I am experienced in most areas of the protection market however, due to my market knowledge and experience, I have the ability to arbitrage the inefficiencies of the insurance market for the benefit of my clients.

What does this mean? Whenever, you have a mass market offering, in this instance insurance, companies have a general approach that they apply to everyone, and therefore don’t have specialist knowledge in all the areas that they cover. This results in an opportunity where they view the risk as lower than it should be and charge a lower price therefore, it gives me the ability to take advantage of this for my clients. 

I believe specialising is the way forward though, as market complexity has increased in recent years making it quite difficult to be expert at everything. 

I have held many different advisory roles over my 20-year career from direct sales adviser for Lincoln Financial at City Financial Partners where I did my initial training to working for an IFA, a Private Banker in Dubai for a number of years where I was advising international executives how to protect and increase their wealth. I then returned to the UK where I held advisory positions in property, ran and trained sales teams at a clean tech investment company as a the sales director and most recently, I was working for a Fintech company that advised family offices on how to invest. Now I have my own company called Insuring You – a trading style of Fort Advice Bureau where we provide expert and specialist protection advice across a range of industries. 

I am a firm believer in protection and have an evangelical belief about the subject. It so easy to put a decent level of protection in place weather you are single, have a family own a business or have all three. The need to implement protection has never been greater given the events so far of 2020.

I am married, with a young little boy called Jax who will be 3 this year and I live in Maida Vale. Prior to moving into finance, I was an athlete and my specialist event was the 200 meters where I competed at a national level. I into fitness, training, performance and classic cars, in particular I have a soft spot for classic air-cooled Porsche’s.  I am into motorsport in a big way and I plan to start racing in the not to distance future with the end goal to participate at Lemans. At the weekends I’m always at a classic car event or at a racetrack.     

Qualifications.

I have Financial Planning Certificates 1 – 3 and I am a member of the Personal Finance Society, so I am entitled to use Cert PFS. I am also a Bachelor of Science in Business and Sport Science BSc (Hons).
